This year we will be honoring:
John and Arline Geaghan and their sons Peter, Larry and Pat Geaghan will be receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award. In 1975, John and Arline Geaghan opened John Geaghan’s Roundhouse Restaurant. Thus started the family tradition of hard work in an industry that would see many ups and downs over the years. Larry, Peter, and Pat Geaghan have carried on the legacy of community and family while learning their trade and building Geaghan’s Pub into one of the most successful and longest established pubs in Maine. EAGLE AWARD SPONSOR: Hollywood Casino Bangor
Champion the Cure will receive the award for Organizational Achievement. Since the first event in 2010, Northern Light’s Champion the Cure Challenge has raised more than $4.2 million and has brought thousands of supporters and participants to the Bangor Region to walk, bike, run, paddle or horseback-ride to raise money for local cancer research. Every dollar raised supports Northern Light Cancer Care services provided at the Lafayette Family Cancer Institute in Brewer. EAGLE AWARD SPONSOR: First National Bank
As director of the Bangor Parks and Recreation Department, Tracy Willette oversees a department that manages a wide variety of programs and facilities, including all parks and open spaces in the city. He is receiving the award for being a linchpin in facilitating logistics for CVB events, including the annual car show, beer and wine festival and auto rallies, as well as for numerous organizations in the region. As the CVB plans future events, Tracy will continue to play an integral role, coming to the table with a “let’s make this work” attitude. – EAGLE AWARD SPONSOR: Bangor International Airport
