During last month’s Peek into Paintings, we looked at a Chinese port painting of the Searsport ship CLARISSA B. CARVER and heard about the experiences of Captain Benjamin Dow’s family when the ship launched. In Part II of the CLARISSA B. CARVER, we’ll examine an early 20th-century painting by Charles Rosner, contemplate life on board for the crew, and discover how the CLARISSA met her demise in a collision off the coast of Japan.
