New England is making progress toward a more circular food system, where food waste is reduced and recovered rather than sent to a landfill. These efforts are positive, but we also need to be careful to avoid introducing contamination into our food system during this process. Jean and Cindy will describe the results of a recent study on potential contaminants in food waste and how food waste can be reduced sustainably and safely.
