Insect Field Day
August 3 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Members of the Maine Entomological Society (MES) will hold a field day at Walden-Parke Preserve to learn more about the insects found at Walden-Parke by exploring, collecting and identifying with this knowledgeable group.
Participants should bring collecting equipment (small containers, nets, hand lenses) as well as boots for walking in wet areas, sunscreen, and nets or spray for the sometimes troublesome mosquitoes and ticks. Bring a bag lunch and stay all day. There are no public restrooms available at the preserve.
Directions Take the Broadway exit on I95 and head south on Route 15 toward downtown Bangor. At the first light, turn left onto Stillwater Avenue then turn left at the next light onto Essex Street. Travel four miles north on Essex. After passing Church Road on the left, turn right onto Walden Parke Way. Look for a green and white Bangor Land Trust sign before that intersection and an entrance sign that says Edgewood Subdivision. Follow Walden Parke Way until you get to Tamarack Trail and turn right. At the end of Tamarack Trail is a parking circle and the Walden-Parke Preserve kiosk. Park in the circle and meet at the kiosk.
Please RSVP. For more information email email@example.com or call the office 942-1010.
