Bangor Daily Brews: Climate change and Maine’s next 200 years

September 24, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Bangor Daily Brews takes a bicentennial-themed 200 year look to the past and to the future on Maine’s climate.

Maine’s upcoming bicentennial has the BDN editorial board thinking about how Maine’s climate has changed in the past 200 years, and what the next 200 years could look like. Let’s go back to the future of Maine’s climate with researchers from the University of Maine’s Climate Change Institute.
Paul Mayewski is the director of the Climate Change Institute. He has led dozens of research expeditions to polar and high altitude locations.
Cindy Isenhour is an associate professor of anthropology and climate change whose areas of research include economic and environmental anthropology; environmental displacement; climate mitigation and adaption policy; and global cities and rural resilience.
Sean Birkel is a research assistant professor at the Climate Change Institute and School of Earth and Climate Sciences, with expertise in climate and ice sheet modeling. He also serves as the Maine State Climatologist.
This installment of Bangor Daily Brews will be held in the Barrel Room at Sea Dog Brewing Co. The Barrel Room is located in the back of the building, facing the waterfront. Please park in the Sea Dog lot and enter downstairs on the river side of the building — not through the main entrance.

Tickets are free and open to the public but please reserve your seat as space is limited.
