Author Talk with Anne Nesbet

March 26, 2018 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Acclaimed author Anne Nesbet is coming to Bangor Public Library on March 26 for an author talk about her newest middle grade novel THE ORPHAN BAND OF SPRINGDALE.

It’s 1941, and tensions are rising in the United States as the Second World War rages in Europe. Eleven-year-old Gusta is sent from her New York City home to live with relatives in the fictional Maine town of Springdale. It’s there that she discovers small-town prejudices — and a huge family secret.

Nesbet weaves a tale of magic, hope, prejudice, music and history in this mesmerizing tale.

Anne Nesbet is also the author of several other novels including the Maine Student Book Award listed CLOUD AND WALLFISH. A professor at the University of California, Berkeley, she lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.

In addition to the book talk, which will be great for young readers and adults alike, Nesbet will be signing books for readers. The Briar Patch will have copies of Anne Nesbet’s books available for sale at the event. If you are unable to attend but would still like a signed copy, please call the store at 207-941-0255 to reserve a copy in advance.
